This year, we are once again supporting organisations that are deeply committed to helping people in particularly challenging life situations. Our donations went to the Association for the Promotion of Work with the Blind and Visually Impaired, the Munich Children’s Hospice, and the Munich Women’s Emergency Hotline.
Association for the Promotion of Work with the Blind and Visually Impaired
The donation will be used proportionately for the boarding school, the day groups and the association’s vision diagnostics. The aim is to enable specific purchases that would not be feasible within the regular school and boarding school budget.
Among other things, two go-karts will be financed, enabling one sighted and one blind child to be mobile together. These vehicles offer safe mobility and community experiences, especially for children with visual impairments who cannot ride a bicycle. They are very popular on the playground and boarding school grounds and promote independence and social participation.
In addition, a mobile ophthalmoscope is being purchased, which will enable regular eye examinations to be carried out on site. Thanks to its mobile design, children who are in wheelchairs or need to be treated while lying down can also be examined – an option that is not available even in many ophthalmologists’ practices and clinics.

Ambulantes Kinderhospiz München (AKM)
With our donation to the AKM, we support the AKM’s family sponsorships. Under the guiding principle of ‘Not giving days to life, but life to days’, the AKM accompanies children, adolescents and young adults with life-threatening or life-shortening illnesses and their families.
The focus is on the emotional, social and societal stabilisation of the entire family. Family sponsors give their time, security and reliability – especially when illness places a heavy burden on everyday life. The families are supported by a multi-professional team of doctors, nurses, social workers, psychologists and qualified volunteers. The AKM currently cares for over 1,000 patients and their families throughout Bavaria.

Munich Women’s Emergency Hotline
Since 1992, the Munich Women’s Emergency Hotline has been working to combat sexual violence against women and girls and offers comprehensive support to those affected. The counselling centre employs a multi-professional, diverse team of social workers and psychologists with trauma-specific expertise and many years of experience. Regular training, supervision and intervision ensure the high quality of the work.
The counselling centre works on a feminist basis, taking the side of women and girls, and clearly shows solidarity with those affected. The services are aimed both at women who have experienced sexual violence – such as rape, boundary violations or sexual harassment – and at relatives, caregivers and professionals. The counselling is confidential, free of charge and anonymous if desired.
As part of Munich’s support model against domestic violence and intimate partner violence, the Frauennotruf also cooperates with the police and proactively offers support to affected women. The aim of the work is to make violence visible, empower those affected and initiate social change.

With our donations, we want to provide targeted support where help is most needed – to children, families and women who depend on reliable structures, professional support and solidarity. We would like to express our sincere thanks to all three organisations for their valuable work.
